I came across this interesting adaptation of Mark Twains Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc surfing The Internet. It is an illustrated and abbreviated, adaptation of Twains book, printed in India and meant for young readers. The art is outstanding. The story line follows Mark Twains original work far better than the DVD movies available today/5.
His Personal Recollections chronicle his lengthy career, from his courageous service for the Union during the Civil War to his subsequent 15 years of campaigns against Sitting Bull, Chief Joseph and Geronimo, as well as brief historical sketches of the western United States.
First published This is the best of Mark Twain's works that I have read so far. He claims that Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc is the best of all his novels, and I think I might agree with him (I'd have to read all his novels, of course).
Believe me, it's amazing. His is the kind of prose that makes your heart beat a little faster/5. LibriVox recording of Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc, Volumes 1 & 2, by Mark Twain.
